My book "Wink" by Martin Taylor was assigned to the wrong author named Martin Taylor > Likes and Comments

this will happen ni the future because your name isn't the default Martin Taylor - in the future, ask for your book to be disambiguated and that your profile is Martin^^^Taylor (three spaces between first and last) - you don't see it on the display pages, it is in the backend database
There are more glitches and errors I can't fix. I can't update my photo on the Author profile.
I clicked to follow Martin Taylor on my own author profile to see what would happen... my reader profile now shows me following the other author named Martin Taylor... be a shame for that to happen to everyone trying to follow me.
My authors program application was rejected, but the message doesn't indicate why it was rejected. Clearly the form intends to match me with data that Goodreads has associated with me (like my email address). But since I am first time I don't know where they are getting my email address (possibly the publisher)... possibly they are trying to match me with the email address on file with the wrong Martin Taylor... which kind of created a loop I can't escape. Since they don't indicate which part of the application didn't match I am left to guess. Can you help with this?
I'm having a similair issue. I just published a my second book on Amazon KDP and it's listed under a different author: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...But I wrote it: https://www.amazon.com/Shadow-Elder-R...
Can I please have it moved to me so I can start a giveaway?
Brian wrote: "I'm having a similair issue. I just published a my second book on Amazon KDP and it's listed under a different author: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2......"This thread is about Martin Taylor's Wink, as suggested by the title of the thread.
Additionally, you have already asked about this elsewhere.
Please, be patient!
Scott, I very much appreciate how quickly you were able to address the first issue and that you responded to me right away. The good news is you are available... the bad news is I can't seem to reach anyone else. "Contact Support" was were I started before I found you. Thanks for doing everything in your scope to help.
Librarians cannot help with claiming profiles. Support can be reached here: https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...
Scott, sorry for two messages in one day. I just saw the reply from Dee "this will happen ni the future because your name isn't the default Martin Taylor - in the future, ask for your book to be disambiguated and that your profile is Martin^^^Taylor (three spaces between first and last) - you don't see it on the display pages, it is in the backend database"... can you help with this suggestion?I might be in a loop where I can't edit my authors profile myself because my application to the Authors Program is getting rejected because my answers are being compared to the wrong Martin Taylor.
Support is broken:I sent a message to "Support" that received ticket number 1736435. The response was not generated by a human. It was completely unresponsive to the problem I am having.
Goodreads is not recognizing my email and website as "the official author email or website". This is bad data in Goodreads system. My hypothesis is that your system is trying to match my form to data that comes from a different author named Martin Taylor. Whatever the reason, I am the author of Wink and I am populating your form with my official email address website.
Can a human please look into this.
Martin
Liralen, thank you for trying to help me. You and the other librarians appear to be my only hope here. Support is broken. The message I sent received a ticket number and a non-human generated reply that did not respond to the questions or solve the problem. Do you know of a way to contact a human being at "support"?
Librarians literally cannot do anything about it. We do not have the tools or ability to grant author profiles. We are just volunteers. We can edit book records, and handle a couple other things like lists and quotes. We ourselves are not sure if any humans still work at Goodreads. We often have the same experience you did.
I appreciate that Goodreads is for readers. Here I am starting my time as an author making way too much noise. I love the librarian model, the collective and a community dedicated to books. I just don't know how to get unstuck. But I really appreciate your effort on my behalf.
I'm not sure. Is there any chance you could send me the correct link. If it turns out to be different than what I have been using that may be my way out of this mousetrap. And thank you again for all of your help. I'm very self-conscious that this is space for readers and I'm taking up too much of it.
Scott, I have been rejected from claiming my book Wink 7 times. But, it does appear that Wink is associated with me and not the other Martin Taylor. My question is: what's the harm in giving up? What would having an author profile and claiming my book do for me that would justify continuing to try and guess what data the automatic application process wants from me (I suspect it is still matching my information to the other author named Martin Taylor). I know it sounds like I'm asking permission to give-up, but maybe it doesn't matter that much as long as the book is correctly attributed.

It has been assigned to a different author named Martin Taylor.

How can this get corrected.
