I have to say, Mark, I don't follow anyone else on Goodreads who provides me with so many reviews for books that immediately go on my TBR list even though I've never heard of them or even of their author. Thanks!

Thanks - I'm happy our tastes are in alignment! I'm a good hype man for the books I read.

Lovely review. I do like reading about Italy and the italians including when affected by the war. I liked hearing separately about the questioning of italian prisoners who all refused to talk until someone who knew about italy released their hand bonds and suddenly with elaborate hand movements they talked incessantly!

Thanks John and I love that anecdote. those elaborate Italian hand movements are included in this book too!
