I saw the Taylor/Burton movie when it first came out in the late 1966 and loved it. And despite that fact, I ended up getting married 7 years later anyway. I need to read this play. Thank you.

Yeah, I saw it last year again and it is as terrific now as it was then. But yeah, it could make you rethink marriage. The fights are hilariously spectacular between Liz and Dick. My parents never fought in front of us, but my uncle L and aunt A fought like crazy in front of us. My Mom said, oh, they love each other so much. This is just one way they have of expressing it. I wasn't always convinced but they never divorced...
Great review! I'm seeing the play later this year in London with Gillian Anderson and Billy Crudup. I'm torn between reading the play first or not. I usually prefer not to spoil
