Hi Everyone! I've been reflecting a lot lately on how God comforts us when our worlds completely shatter. When we go through massive battles, we look for big miracles--but sometimes, He speaks the loudest in the tiniest details. For decades, I carried a heavy testimony in my heart. Years ago, I had to navigate the heartbreak of infidelity and a terrifying, positive HIV scare. In the middle of that dark valley, God gave me a tiny piece of proof involving an old farmhouse milk can---a detail only He knew was in my heart. It reminded me that if He cared about something so small, He cares about the massive burden we are carrying. Today, my husband and I live on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country with 38 years of marriage proof that God completely restores what is broken. I finally put the story into my very first book, The Milk Can: When the Test Came Back Positive, which went live last week. I'm always looking to connect with other women of faith. How has God shown up in a "small detail" during a difficult season in your life? Let's encourage each other today!

Your story made me think about how often the ordinary carries more than we realise. The milk can was such a small detail, yet in that moment it became deeply meaningful to you. It wasn’t the size of the thing itself that mattered, but what it meant to you in the middle of such a difficult season. It makes me think about how God can use something very ordinary to remind us that He has not overlooked what we are going through.
Mother Teresa makes me think of almost the opposite experience. She went through many years of what she described as an inner darkness, yet continued in prayer and service even when God’s presence did not feel obvious. There was no small sign that simply made everything clear. Yet when we look at the whole of her life, those years of faithfulness became part of a much larger story.
Perhaps that is one of the interesting things about the long arc of faith. Sometimes God gives us a small detail in the middle of a difficult season that speaks directly to us. At other times, we may not see or understand what God is doing until much later.
Your story also brings to mind something I’ve been reflecting on: how ordinary moments can carry something much greater than they appear to carry at the time. A small detail can become part of something much larger — and, in your case, part of a story of restoration that has now stretched across 38 years.

Thank you for introducing your book and for sharing your story :), I think its wonderful that you did that :)) I'll explain..
I often find that simply hearing ( "accidentally"?) that someone else had been in a tough spot similar to yours, and found his way out of it successfully, can make such a difference! really gives you a lift when you were nearly ready to give up. And another way that higher power seems to help us , is by sending a " guardian angel" ( just how I like to call them). Basically, a complete stranger saying or doing something very kind and sweet for you, exactly when you needed it, when you were having a bad day.
Thank you, higher power, and kind sincere authors, too!

This really hit me. For me, God showed up in the middle of the scariest season of my life when my 6 day old son Jaxon needed open heart surgery. I’m a CHD survivor myself, so 35 years after my parents walked that road with me, I found myself on the other side of the hospital bed. Somewhere through those long days at Cincinnati Children’s, the prayers, the fear and the people God placed in our path, my faith started coming back after nearly 20 years away from church. That journey eventually became my first book, Jaxon’s Journey, but more importantly it brought my family and me closer to God. Looking back now, I can see Him in so many of the little details that I couldn’t see while we were going through it. ❤️🙏
