Kristina Kamaeva How is everyone? This group became so quiet.
By the end of the year, I plan to publish the third book in the Mireya series and a collection of short stories. But instead of working on these projects, I've taken on the Writober challenge and write silly poems with silly pictures.
You can check my "guilty pleasure" poem with hand drawn illustrations here:

Cheers!

Mathew Kellerman I've been swamped with design projects, which has taken all my creative energy this entire year. Buildings before books, I'm afraid. But I have an idea for a short story I want to write and submit to Beyond Ceaseless Skies, which is a lovely publication for those who haven't heard of it. Literary fantasy, which is what I write. No simple dragon quests, these, but insight into human nature.

Kristina, I love your poem. What a ride that became! And the artwork...no words.

Projects that bring money are always a priority! Good plan with the magazine. Haven't heard of them, but I will take a note.
I'm glad you liked my poem. Inktober is the only time I draw :)

P. Pherson Guilty Pleasure poem not what I was expecting. I loved the artwork. And who couldn't use a good rapture.

I have been trying to get my Book 2 out the door. But I am stuck in editing, and the cover artist has some changes to make, so...its not ready as yet.

But I got delayed due to complications of my cancer treatment recovery. I has knocked my off my horse for weeks now. I need to get back on it.

message 5: by Mathew (new)

Mathew Kellerman Praying for your recovery, my good man!

message 6: by Kristina (new)

Kristina Kamaeva I'm sorry you're going through this. Get well, please!

message 7: by P. Pherson (new)

P. Pherson Thanks all. I accept thoughts and prayers.

Kristina Kamaeva I've completed my Inktober and Writober challenge. I'm happy I don't have to draw more pictures 😂

Here is my Inktober poem: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

And I have one more: Three Dead Men and Girls

Happy Halloween!

P. Pherson I thought you pictures were just what was needed. Putting aside the content, its not so easy drawing the same character over and over. You did that very well.

Thank you! They were fun to draw :)

Martina Lopez After having a baby at the end of August I've had to force myself back into writing. Usually I like being creative. I've got a fancy dress party coming up for someone's birthday and I normally get enthusiastic about making the costumes. But I'm lacking energy right now :-D

message 12: by Mathew (new)

Mathew Kellerman Congratulations on your little bundle of joy! Children are such a blessing.

Costume maker, eh? Do you sew them, piece them together, do intricate make-up for folks? Tell me more.

message 13: by Martina (new)

Martina Lopez Thanks. It can be a combination of all, depending on the outfit. Costume maker does make me sound very skilled though :-D

Maha . Hello authors,
My creative life is amazing.
But my book's promotional life is in ICU, almost dead and I don't know what to do. It's stressing me.
Hope y'all are doing well.

Kristina Kamaeva Last year I was more productive. I published four books: an epic fantasy series Mireya:

The Usurper (Mireya, #1) by Kristina Kamaeva The Shapeshifter (Mireya, #2) by Kristina Kamaeva The Priest (Mireya, #3) by Kristina Kamaeva

and a collection of modern fairy tales:

She Can Only Marry a Dragon A Collection of Modern Fairy Tales by Kristina Kamaeva

This year I've been so slow 😭
It's June, and I've only finished the second chapter of my new book.
It's a sci-fi adventure novel about cat people taking over humanity.

Art by Deva

How is everybody's "work in progress" ?

message 16: by P. Pherson (new)

P. Pherson Something about that cover makes me wish I was a cat person...

I've been starting and stopping a lot on my current one. I am pushing book 2 out the door though...should be on amazon tonight.

Reading wise...I promised someone I would read one of the smutty ones, so... That is next for me. A different type of Fantasy, I suppose.

Well, cat-people have advantages over ordinary people in this novel 😉
I'm on the seventh chapter now.
Congratulations on the second book in the series! The cover looks great. I wish you inspiration and plenty of readers!

P. Pherson Heh...so far, I made 3 cents on KDP. Woohoo...

message 19: by P. Pherson (new)

P. Pherson TBH...That cover took way too long, and I am still not 100% happy with it, but I am much happier now than the first rendition, It has kind of grown on me, but I think the MC could look a little less harsh...

Thanks for looking.

Nevertheless, no one can tell stories that live within you. You need to tell them, even if you don't get rich from them right away!

message 21: by Mathew (new)

Mathew Kellerman Really need to get myself back into writing, as I've been very lax on it. So, I forced myself to make a blog post to get the juices flowing and hope to continue working on my short story any day now...

How is everyone else doing with their projects?

message 22: by P. Pherson (new)

P. Pherson I'd not mind another guilty pleasure story ;)

I have gotten super bogged down at work for quite a long while now. Its become very hard to get in writing time everyday. I keep thinking I will get to the end of a project and then the spending of energy will stop, but so far...I just have too much going on.

My Book 5 is lingering and lingering. But, I am still dedicated. Book 2 is out the door. That a lot of energy I can now redirect.

And thats my update :)
