Thanks for giving it a shot, even if the prose style ended up being a dealbreaker!
The funny thing is that the “Not X. Not Y. Z.” structure is actually a deliberate stylistic habit of mine, and I've been using that kind of rhythm long before AI started making everyone suspicious of it. But I completely understand how repetition of any particular pattern can start grating, especially when you're reading several chapters back-to-back. Still, genuinely appreciate you giving it a chance and taking the time to explain what didn't work for you. Sorry it wasn't your cup of tea!
