I just read an article about how the Coen brothers turned No Country For Old Men into a movie and nailed being authentic to the book and bringing their own creativity to it. In the article the writer talked a little about Blood Meridian and it made me want to read it. I'm assuming since it's on your favorites shelf and you're reading it again, that you would recommend as well.
Joe, I’ve heard about the movie adaption. I believe John Hillcoat is set to direct it? Not sure. I’m curious to see it and hope it’ll do justice to the story, as this book is definitely a favorite, one which I’ve visited more than once over the years. McCarthy is one of my favorite authors, and I hope you’ll enjoy his work if you choose to read it. Have you ever read The Road? It’s an amazing book I’d highly recommend you to read if you haven’t.

Thank you for the recommendation. I haven't yet read The Road. I know that it is brutal and bleak, and while I like those kinds of stories, I need to be in the mood. So far I've only read No Country For Old Men, but I will add this and The Road to my list.

Thank you, Anna! Are you really? Yay! Go for it, this was my 4th time reading it and it was probably the best of them all. This book reveal itself the more you read it. I’d say enjoy, but we both know there’s nothing joyful about it :) 🖤🖤

Haha, I have no problem with that claim and never will! LOL. I did hear about the movie adaption and I’m with you on that, I hope they’ll do the book justice and won’t mess it up! This is a real challenge and I hope they won’t disappoint, although I highly doubt it’ll be half as good as the book is. Yes, I’m protective when it comes to McCarthy :)
