Mary Batch Thank you so much for this thoughtful reflection. I’m grateful the movement from identity toward God’s love resonated with you, because that was the deepest part of my own wilderness. Christ didn’t just remind me who I was — He kept showing me who He is. His love was present in the fear, the surrender, the grief, and the slow healing, long before anything felt resolved. That quiet, steady love changed how I understood the wilderness itself. It’s what eventually led me into the next book, Love in the Wilderness, because His love kept unfolding even after the crisis was over. I’m glad the story helped you see how His presence can meet you in the middle of your own season, even when the road ahead isn’t visible.
