Nicki Runge want to clarify one thing about the AI claim. You mentioned using multiple AI tools to determine whether my book was written by AI. AI tools can make mistakes, and their estimates are not proof of who wrote a book. I am the author of this book, and I wrote it myself. I respect that the book wasn’t for you, but I don’t think an AI-generated “likelihood” should be presented as evidence that a real author did not write their own work.

Amy Cooke I never presented it as evidence. I presented it as a possible cause for the symptom of seeming to be written by AI. You may have very well written the book, but the issue still stands: it is unfortunately poorly written.

There are personal issues I have that I can’t really critique fairly due to it being just that: personal (i.e. the MC somehow picks up the ability to have supernatural hearing…).

My primary issue is just the difficulty I have with simply trying to read it… it’s just not written in an enjoyable way.

Nicki Runge I understand the book wasn’t for you, and I respect your opinion about the writing. I would just appreciate it if you didn’t make assumptions about whether I wrote my own work based on AI tools. I did write this book myself. I spent two years working on it with a writing coach, five beta readers, and three editors throughout the process. That was the only part of your review I wanted to clarify. You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion of the book, but I wanted to be clear about my authorship.
