cant believe ure finally done with it..
I'm bothered there aren't more reviews like this one. It really nails it. So much of the book was good and interesting. But so much was a slog - we get it. He gets hurt and then he heals and comes back.
But the ending? Made no sense and this character in modern times was shoe-horned in there and did things that made no sense and didn't add to the story.
Yes!! I honestly loved this book, mostly! But Etsy’s character really turned me off.
Agree about Etsy’s character! Just did add anything enjoyable to the story. If it had ended with the last journal entry - “My pipe is empty now. I believe it has been since January 23rd, 1870” - I would liked it more.
Hahaha I really like the book but the ending was SO bad. One of the worst, most bizarre endings to a great book that I've ever seen.
I loved this book, but I was so mad over that silly-ass ending. What the hell?? I could have done without the frame story entirely. It really does threaten to ruin an otherwise brilliant work.
