After your Zola binge, Galdós doesn't seem to be doing a bad job at all! :-)
Ha ha, very true Paula. I dii ok d discover that hat the first batch I read was a year ago so I am making more of an effort not to space the books so far apart, lest I forget what is happening!
Oh, David, this reminds me that I have left my reading of the Episodes hanging. Hopefully I will go back to them in 2027. I did manage to read this one, though.
I confess I haven't read any further Pérez Galdós since he was assigned in university, even though I live near a street named for him and so am reminded that I ought. This series sounds entertaining...

The tea? You’re brilliant Ken. Not once did I think of this while reading the book. He did turn out to be a bit of a cad…cheers!

Thanks Mir. The series is both enlightening and entertaining. I don’t know that much about this period so I welcome this knowledge but his characters are the real value here. Plus the books are short so they seem to read easily and quickly.

I had good intentions too Kalliope but when I realized that my last book was read a year ago, I knew I had to get back at it, at least to finish off this series (I have two books left) by the end of the year. It’s a big mountain to climb, one could say!
