Really, dude? I'm struggling my way through this. I get the guy is a great worldbuilder, but why does everything and everyone have to have three or four different names???
I usually wasn't confused about things like that but I also looked at the glossary every now and then.
I think he's mostly an unforgiving author in that he demands you not only pay attention but also learn from this world on the fly, which is tricky and definitely not for everyone.

I will be interested to see how you feel about the second one. I know Kyle and Joe (and lots of others) love the whole series, but I stalled out on the second. Just too much for me. He's a talented writer, a GREAT world builder, and I did enjoy the first one. I can't say I felt the second one was bad by any stretch. I just thought, "There's no way I'm reading eight more of these so what's the point?" Maybe I'll give it another try at some point in the future. Great names. Great cosmology.
Edward wrote: "Haha, I can see that. The same thing happened to Kyle around the fifth book."Every time I see someone start these books I have a little tug of wanting to go back to them...
