I don't know WHAT I would do if my child starts making such sketches!!! :D This book does seem to have been a huge hit but most of my trusted reviewer friends, including you, have given mixed feedback about it. I only read this book because of the photos you posted in your great review and I agree with it 100%. Have you read The Impossible Fortress yet? I liked it even though it is YA.

I read this a whole book and those pictures were creepy af 😂 I had to start reading in the daytime lol

Great review, Shelley- I did really enjoy this one but I totally agree with you about the twist though. Not very believable. I sent those pics with no warning to so many friends lol!

Throughly enjoyed lol. I’ll have to add to my tbr for when I’m in the mood for something spooky again. Have you read any brom novels? Totally fits the bill for eerie and spooky vibes. I have Krampus on my tbr hopefully before Christmas. So far Slewfoot has been my favorite of his. Chefs kiss! Highly recommend.

crazy twists at the ends of thrillers always make me roll my eyes bc like .. why are they trying so hard 😭 i’ve had this on my tbr for a while but idk about it based on review i’ve seen, sorry this didn’t entirely work out for u 😕

Excellent review! Although I rated the book 5 stars, owing to the fact I had time on my hands when I read the book and it was an enjoyable experience especially with all the drawings interspersed, I completely agree with your opinion that the 70% mark was where everything went berserk. Even the twist in the end was slightly... off. Love how you summarized the story both succinctly and optimally.

This book is also transphobic, there's a video @ youtube explaining why, that's why I gave it 1 star.

This twist just wasn't believeable to me as a mother. I was like how? 😂😂😂

I am pleased you enjoyed it, Anirudh! Many people gave this four and five stars and this won Goodreads best choice for horror, although I wouldn't call it horror. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I agree with this spot on review. Mallory’s immaturity made me cringe and the ending was so bogged down with too many twists that it felt clunky and forced. I eked out ⭐️⭐️

The beginning and the graphics are gripping. Sorry the last 75-80% didn’t hold up.
