I didn't know about his plans for a second novel! That is super interesting. Sounds like it would have been tragic though, and I don't mind that we left Alyosha in a relatively happy place.
I love the way you summarized this huge novel. Dostoyevsky is my favorite Russian novelist and I do love this book. Good review.
