"People pay money to see a matador finish off a dangerous bull, books are written about it, they decorate him with flowers, but nobody wants to buy tickets for a simple slaughterhouse."
Brilliant review! I especially appreciate the wrap-up: " the struggle to remain human in a system that demands emotional detachment and moral compromise." It hits home.

Thank you, Michael! Sarid threads the tension between professional duty and the quiet fight to preserve one’s humanity. That inner conflict feels like the novel’s beating heart.
I have to read more of this author. Something about his writing doesn't mesh with me. The language ebbs and flows. The books I've read of his were interesting but I had to take long breaks. You sure made this title look compelling. Thank you.
