Bárbara Marcuezos Thank you so much for these beautiful words. You noticed exactly the things I was most afraid nobody would see: the laundry baskets, the paperwork, the twenty minutes of writing on a bus between two guests. That is the real life behind the sunny photos, and I am so glad it felt true to you.

What you wrote about my daughter touched me deeply. Watching her grow into a language and a culture faster and more freely than I could is one of the most tender and bittersweet parts of my life here, and you put it into words better than I could.

Thank you for reading so carefully and for taking the time to write this. It means more than I can say.

With love from the Mediterranean,
Bárbara
