Omg I thought I was the only one who rolled their eyes every time she talked about the look or emotion she couldn’t quite decipher!😂
I totally agree!! Also, the repetitive use of the words “jag” and “spooled/unspooled” was SO. FREAKING. IRRITATING.
Sam enraged me. I had the impression in the early book that he'd died, like, a week ago. But he's been dead for TWENTY YEARS! And she's literally seen people chewed up by boat propellers in that time period, and YET, she's still obsessed! The deep revelation about Sam's fate was SO OBVIOUS it just made me want to slap her more than I already did.
Terrible main character. Plot was a joke.
