I did some research and discovered that Adel Al-Ashwal writes books that overlap a lot with weird fiction, focusing specifically on absurd horror, dark fantasy, and psychological folk horror. While the broader categorization of his books includes dark fantasy and gothic horror, the elements of his stories strongly align with the traits of 'weird fiction' by blending reality with strange, unsettling, and surreal themes. His most notable works include:
• The Bloody Cabaret: Where Nightmares Take the Stage: A Dark Fantasy & Absurdist Horror Novel: Marketed as an absurd horror and dark fantasy novel, this book explores a surreal narrative where reality functions as a disguise, using classic weird fiction themes like the thin line between puppets and masters.
• The Drowned: A book categorized as unsettling psychological folk horror and gothic fiction that mixes disturbing legends with a chilling atmospheric tension designed to blur reality.
I just now tried to purchase The Bloody Cabaret because AI identifies it as the most "weird fiction" like of your books, but Amazon says it is out of print. May I prevail upon you to make it available again? I will purchase a copy (for 99 cents) if you can. In the meantime, I'll try one of these others. They're short.
Best of luck gaining an audience for your works, Adel!
