Fantastic review! 🎃
A fab review, Terrie, love the little insight into SK's wife lending a hand to have him continue so that it would be one of his most celebrated works. ❤️
Fabulous review, Terrie! What a cool insight into the contribution of King's wife to the writing of the book. That's pretty incredible considering what he's achieved in the years since! 💗

Thanks, Shelley! 💖 That quote gives me chills!! It’s that hard to watch mother-daughter relationship again.

Thanks, Amina! 💗 Tabitha certainly saved the day!!
Outstanding review, Terrie! 💗I love both the book and the original movie. I had no idea it was with Tabitha's encouragement that he finished this book. Thank you, Tabitha.

Thanks, Kat! 🩷 Those pages were literally buried under cigarette ashes.
Love this book. One of the best retellings I've read is a Carrie retelling. It's The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson.

Thanks so much, Tara! 💕 I’m not a fan of all the gore, but the creativity and meaning he puts into his stories is everything I love about them.
I watched an interview where he spoke about the inspiration behind Carrie. I’ve never forgotten it. Wonderful review!!🧡

Thanks, Michelle! 🩷 I knew this would have been a winner for you, too. King is a genius, and so is his Tabitha. They’re quite the team!!

Thanks, Jennifer! The Weight of Blood looks like an amazing retelling from a different, meaningful perspective. I appreciate the recommendation, and I’ll check it out.

Thanks, Krystal! 🖤🧡 I’ve heard a bits and pieces of this, I think. I’ll check it out. The why's are always fascinating.
Great review Terrie! This was my first Kjng book when it was published! My mom bought it. I was a teen, lol. The new mini series has a modern take on the bullying.
I think I read this in high school and it was perfect in the OTT horror. Glad it worked for you now Terrie!
Thanks, Barbara! A little too bloody, but I always love the thought-provoking themes SK weaves through his stories.
what an informative review! i never knew the tidbit about his wife’s involvement, but could imagine writing a teenager girl would be very hard as an adult man! 😜 i will have to read this one, i remember being very disturbed by the movie

Thanks, Sydney! I think King’s novels are always much better than the film adaptations.
Tracy wrote: "Good for you to get this finished. 👏🏻"
Thanks, Tracy! Another one crossed off my very long list!! 🎃
Marialyce wrote: "Lots of years since I read this one. I think there is a show on Amazon Prime about the story."
It took me decades to get to it, Marialyce. There is another Prime series about Carrie, but haven’t watched it yet. It’s said to be very good, though.
Karen wrote: "Oh my gosh, you are bringing me back to the original movie, Terrie. Wonderful review! 😊"
Thanks so much, Karen! 🤩
Great review, Terrie! Ah glad you finally got to this classic and totally loved it! How interesting that his wife helped him out and in the process, put a legend on the map. :)
Thanks, Kelley! I didn't know about it either, and I suspected it might be the same for other readers. I'm glad I shared a great piece of trivia about a beloved author's long-ago experience while writing his debut novel. 🤩
Great review, Terrie! I've read a handful of King's novels over the years (including this one), but after listening to his memoir, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, I'm back adding more of his books to my WTR list! The man is a master storyteller! As for that tidbit, he does mention this in his memoir.
Thank, Debbie! I’m glad you enjoyed listening to “On Writing”, and it’s great that it has sparked an interest into more of Kings books. Enjoy!!
I occasionally read horror, but I've read more than just a few of SK's books pre-GR and years ago. I enjoyed all but one. I find his writing and storytelling addictive, Brendan. Happy Reading!!
❤️ absolutely love your review Terrie!!! I love this story behind the story of King's debut novel. I can just picture his wife picking the early pages of 'Carrie' out of the trash. Then helping him cobble the story together. It's beautiful and moving to know what that act of love for her husband did for them both in the end. ❤️
