Stephanie Bernett This is exactly what is happening to me! I would love to pursue in photography or art but my parents tell me to do something that I can make a living off of. Also I love to write and have always wanted to be a writer, but instead I am going to go into medical school after high school for my parent's sake. Any tips on what i should do?

Amy Plum Stephanie. Honestly, it doesn't matter what you do for your B.A. So if your parents are paying and they insist on you majoring in something practical, do it...but take all of the electives in stuff you love. What actually matters is having that B.A., and then you can do what you want for grad school. However, medical school means starting college on a medical school track, I think. I thought I'd do medical school too, then almost failed at chemistry. Think of why you're going into it first...for me it was to make money and have a good job. Not a good reason.
