CJ | A Well-Read Tart This is such great advice! I agree that it's good to have more than one project in the works. I'm querying my first novel, and I'm so glad to be working on my 2nd novel to take my focus on waiting to hear back (or, not hear back) from agents! I also write the scenes I'm most excited about first. :-) My current draft of the new ms has a bunch of holes in it because I just couldn't figure out what to write to bring one scene to the next...so I just moved on to the next thing I'm excited about! I'll fill in the blanks later in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc drafts. And, yes, long walks are GREAT for clearing one's head!

Jennifer Congratulations on finishing your novel and sending out queries, CJ! It's so great that you've already started the second! And yes, I think one of the keys to not getting stuck is to give yourself permission to jump around and skip over parts knowing you can always go back and fill things in later! Happy writing! And best of luck with the querying process!
