Elizabeth I've always thought that Mirror Dance is, at its heart, about Bel Thorne. Knowing that Mark was not Miles, Bel continues the mission. Why? I have heard the reasons, but they mostly suggest to me that Bel is far more complex than given credit for. Anyway, Bel is outed by their acceptance of Mark as Miles, and loses.

Bill Noble I'd been hung up over the scene early on where Bel offers Mark tea and asks "What kind?" where he replies "The usual." I thought maybe Miles tried a different variety each time or maybe even refused tea altogether. But yeah, his reaction to that kiss certainly should have set off alarms.

Talli Ruksas And referring to Mark as Miles's clone - unless that was a test by that point.

Kalen Delaney Yes, Talli, that is my memory also. In fact, I am rereading Mirror Dance now, but haven't got to the part where Miles talks to Bel. But I seem to remember that when Miles asks Bel how he knew, Bel said it was because he referred to Mark (in the guise of Miles) as 'your clone' and Mark didn't correct him. But again as Talli suggests, there would have been suspicions already and that was the final test.
