When you're writing dialogue for a graphic novel, how do you decide what should be spoken by the characters and what should be left for the illustrations to communicate without words?
Great question! I think the strongest graphic novels let the artwork tell part of the story, while dialogue adds emotion and context. By the way,
I completely agree that the artwork should carry part of the story instead of relying on dialogue for everything. Some of the best graphic novels communicate emotions through expressions and panel layouts, making the reading experience much more immersive.
Now that's how you write horror in two sentences. The final line is haunting and leaves so much to the imagination.
