I thought there was a book that had a female Carpathian and a male Human.
Well ... Gary and Gabriella did fall in love while they both were human. Gabriella was turned by Mikhail after an attack, I think, making her Carpathian. They tried to remain as a couple, but they could not because she was not his lifemate. Then Gary was converted as a Darazonoff (sp?) and he understood that she was not his. It is book Dark Promises.
Oh. I read so many of the dark series but not sure if I have read that one.
