Karen McCluskey I find it boggling that people can be 'completely chill' with entertainment containing people hurting or killing each other but find expressing love/attraction somehow problematic. Love your books, Gail!

Gail Carriger I hear ya Karen, I tend to assume culture or religion are at play under these circumstances. Although the Hero's Journey has a lot to answer for.

Karen McCluskey I can see your point. That said, I don't find "my culture/religion says violence is fine but sex/sexuality isn't" makes it more palatable. That just makes me a little sad, actually. Hopefully, such tenets/perspectives will evolve. Until then, there are lots of different books for different tastes.

Deb F I find it amazing how people can fail to realise how incredible offensive such a question is.

"my definition of clean is basically nothing more than kissing, violence is completely chill."

So if you have normal human sexual relationships, that's 'dirty', but murder is fine? Seriously, your worldview needs serious adjustment. The term you are looking for is not 'clean', it's probably something like "Incel Oriented"
