I was a bit limited as to length in the question box but I did pick up in book one that Eddie had a short afro and that he was darkly enough complected that it was hard to see him blush, but those WERE pretty subtle references. I have met white guys that sport afro-like haircuts and know a few latinx guys where blushes are a bit harder to detect as well. What really made me want to know is one point in book two where the bully confronts Theo and refers to an absent Eddie as "your boy." Again, it was subtle but I thought it might be a reference to the bully's racism.
