Stefan's (original) book was the first book I ever wrote (It was over 700 pages long). I have changed it significantly as I created a much larger world encompassing other species. I am starting it over from scratch for the most part because he has evolved into a much more powerful character and the Underveil has greatly expanded. I'm thrilled he appealed to you. I love him.
That's so cool, argh now I'm dying to read the original book!! But I love how the story is unfolding now, especially how everything is so intertwined. I'll admit though, as much as I liked Elena and Nikolai, part of me really wished that was Stefan's book =) I was dying for more info about the Time Folders. I hope they make a cameo in Aksel's book, too!
Stefan and Aliana are in Aksel's book, along with other Time Folders. I adore them. I think you will like Aksel and Sarah, too. They are fantastic fun to write.
