Hi Faye - yes, my mother did have WWII ties. Her grandfather lived in Italy and was killed during Allied bombings, and her uncle was in the US army - in a unit that liberated concentration camps. He told me stories about his service when I was young, and I never forgot it.
Hi Faye - I'm not sure what camps he liberated, He passed away about fifteen years ago. I'll ask one of my cousins the next time I see them. I think he was in the same unit as the TV show The Band of Brothers.
