Thanks kindly for the reply. It does help a lot to hear another person’s perspective. I’ve enjoyed books with Motie watchmakers, genetically enhanced and evolving spiders, menacing evolving blobs bent on taking over the universe and a frozen dude whose brain is decanted into a computer/spacehip and he Bob’s himself all over the universe saving the last of humanity etc. I did buy the other book you wrote, the one without the female protagonist. I’m still leery after reading the Paolini effort which as you mentioned might have been the writing of the character that annoyed me. I hardly ever feel angry at a book and it surprises me. Maybe I’m heading into grumpy old man territory and it’s one of those things you can’t help. I’d rather not. Maybe your non female protagonist book will be great and I’ll be encouraged to pick up that one. I certainly hope so. Thanks again for the intelligent reply. As I said, watching your videos is enjoyable because you’re very smart and are able to make it fun to hear things that I rarely hear outside of my own head.
