My father and his father were named William (and usually called Bill). I would have been the same, but my mother intervened: "And now for something completely different…"
I assume we’re ignoring the various laws countries and states have passed: see Wikipedia /Naming_law . (Links not permitted.)
This is just the sort of thing some busybody Vor count or emperor might have done during the isolation. Just in case a retcon is ever needed….
