Good points. There's so much propaganda on both sides that it's difficult to detect truth from fiction. As an aside, I play hockey with both Russian and Ukrainians and, low and behold, one group hates Putin and the other admires him. In fact one of the Ukrainians who hates Putin has a father in Ukraine who admires him. I guess it shows that there are at least three sides to every story - one on one hand, one on the other and the truth somewhere in the middle.
The important truth is that russia invaded Ukraine and as a result there are thousands of dead and wounded and devastated cities. Unjustified and inexcusable. Many russians I know think the same, yet only one person decides there...
Whilst Ukraine was under Soviet rule. So, can we say, "Are you aware of the atrocities the Soviet Army committed against the Poles during WW2? The same atrocities the Soviet Army committed against each country they occupied during and after WW2. Should Ukraine and its people be seen as a country trying to free itself from the Russian yoke and become an independent nation wanting to turn its back on the horrors endured by all who were bullied by the aggressor next door for many, many years.
