I believe he also said: "Not all possibilities are open to us” and “realism can break a writer's heart”. Perhaps his idea of freedom of expression is one of those possibilities? To be honest, I would've been better to say that I believe in freedom of expression as long as you don't intentionally mean to harm or upset someone with it. Art, regardless of the form, is a powerful thing; I feel that there have been times in the past where it's been created to inflict pain instead of provoking thoughts and discussions.
