Keke I would like to say that, as much as I appreciate science and engineering, writers and artists in general have magic all on their own too!
As I myself am a scientist, I can't begin to fathom how writers create the stories I so love and cherish (including your trilogy). I love your take on magic, I've never thought of it like that, and I am glad you've opened my eyes to it.
Science and engineering has created the marvels you've listed and more, but I can firmly say that it is the books and other art of this world that helps us through our tough times, keeps us company, and generally helps us relax.
For that I am truly thankful to all artists. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. :)

Sorry my comment couldn't be as eloquent as yours, but I just felt like I had to say my piece!

Kristin Bailey It takes two hands to create, inspiration and actualization. Writers can provide the inspiration, but scientists and engineers create the actualization. Look at how much modern technology has been inspired by old Star Trek technology, for example. We need both dreamers and doers. If I am meant to be a dreamer in the world, I will humbly bow to the doers who make dreams possible.
