Thanks - it is so frustrating with authors with names like Michael Davidson, particularly if they predate Goodreads as tracking them is a nightmare!
This is why I chose "St. Elmo'.
I don't compete against anyone but a red muppet and an '80's movie.
Davidson's two books seemed the sort of enthusiastic 'thought-experiment' of a young, talented writer. It may be that he/she is still writing.
If I find any trail, I will pass it on.
A friend on reddit (r/fantasy) found his obit on Legacy.com
