I just found it strange how it jumps from miles being in the back country with that dead baby to space shenanigans, still enjoy your work.
Elliot Good - that contrast between mountain and galactic life of which Miles is well aware, gave rise to his dedication to Barryar, and tied him to being Lord Vorkosigan rather than the little Admiral , despite all temptation. That sort of deep character building is what keeps me rereading the series, even after 40 years!!
