Tomislav Well, I ask because I am a Croatian-American named Tomislav Hlaban. Most Croatian-Americans are in the habit of taking an English first name, and mine is "Tom." I was previously aware that there is a similar surname in South Africa, but there is in fact no relation.

Lyz Russo That's amazing! :) Hlabane is indeed a surname in South Africa. It would be gas if there were a linguistic connection between the two surnames.
