Thanks Steve. I had no idea. Never made sense to me why some books in a series would have whispersync and others not, even when the audible file was available. Does seem you would have some say though. I pray they are giving you your percentage. Would suck if they didn't.
Well, it's a complex issue. I get paid because whispersync requires the kindle version so you had to buy that. But I make less on the audio than from a standalone audio book. However, I partner with a producer to make the audio and his team gets kind of screwed on whispersyncs because they don't get anything from kindle purchases. So the whispersync price, which is much less, is split up between amazon, his team, and me. And it's not a lot.
Wish writers had a better deal these days. When I gave it a shot, long ago, it was pretty much 3 rejection letters a week. Self publishing was very expensive and almost certain to make everyone but me money. I hope you are wildly successful, Steve. You certainly have the skills and craft. I've picked up everything you've published except Delovoa. I'll get that soon.
