wonder what kind of similarities they are referring to.
Red Queen the people are the Reds and Silvers and the Red Rising are the Reds and Golds; In both books the Red people are enslaved by the other group......the premise of both books are so similar it's crazy.
Yes because a people enslaved by another group for no other reason but the blind luck of which family/race/country you were born to is completely unique to these books. Definitely not a recurring theme in human history.
