Wow--thank you so, SO much for your kind words! It was a hard story to write, but I wanted so much to "get it right" and honor her--and others--for their place in our history--while also not trashing those who might have been of genuine faith in Christ, you know? ❤ I appreciate hearing your thoughts about it!

I appreciated the deftness with which you handled Pocahontas's story. I can only imagine the challenge you faced given the mythology and history that's been built up around her, and also as a 21st century white woman climbing into the head of a 16th century native woman. The story you wove for her was heart-breaking, and you are brave (and likely close to the truth) for including certain elements, given what we know about how the English often treated native women. I applaud you.
