My latest book, The Abscission Zone, came about while working in my yard and garden. I was battling English Ivy that has overgrown the back of our garage, and I fell and broke my shoulder. In addition, the garden went wild. We had four foot long squash and so many cucumbers and tomatoes we didn't know what to do with them. I became obsessed with plants and the strange story of the Abscission Zone resulted.
