I'm an art teacher, painter, and HUGE Wyeth (all of them) fan! Visiting the Alvaro's house (now on the National Register of Historic Sites) in Maine is surreal; like living in the paintings. Very excited for this book!
I will DEFINITELY be reading this one. This painting was hanging in my grandparents house when i was little. Every time I see it, all of those memories from Gram and Poppa's house come rushing back. I can't wait!!
I was in 3rd grade and our teacher showed us that painting and we had to write a story about it. I always think about that whenever I see the painting. I do not remember what I wrote, but I did get an A!
Have always admired this painting so will definitely read the book when in print. I seem to seek out novels about Maine, my home for12 years!
That painting is so enchanting and presents so many conflicting emotions. I'll be interested to see what story it's presented to you.
My dad was adopted off the orphan train when he was 18 months old. He was born in New York and traveled to Texas. In his twenties he located his birth parents and we went to New York to visit them
My mother loved this painting and a copy hung in our Living Room for years. I used to look at it and wondered about the story. Can't wait to read your book.
I am so excited. I got a wood framed print of Christina’s World from the Thrift store. I have your book, A Piece of the World and going to put that next to it. I loved Reading your book so much 💕 and was so surprised to see the print. It looks like it’s from a Museum since has a little gold tag on frame saying Andrew Wyeth, Christina’s World. Love this
