I guess you are right. Practicing is the way
I remember when a friend with her first book contract wrote me a long letter about how hard it is and now she understands writers block, yada, yada. I replied with a pithy one sentence email, "Quit whining and write the dang thing." And she did...in three months no less. With four books published I can assure you they don't write themselves. So join a writers group, take a workshop..do what you need to do to get moving but most of all do press your fingers to the keys.
