(might i add) or sometimes keep your work out of the hands of your friends and family, and rely on acquaintances and strangers to beta for you
I know what you mean about acquaintances and strangers, Katya, and I'm not disagreeing. But when you are just an aspiring writer - just getting going - it often feels more comfortable to have input from somebody who knows you well, who you trust to be honest. Having said that, I think everybody is different and works in different ways - so whatever is good for you, really!
Yes i agree! btw i found some great articles and / or guest posts you did and interviews and love the advice you share about your success. i am an independent author and learning a lot along the way. thanks for helping. some day i hope my writing will support me but for now i just am really enjoying writing books and finding my audience.
