Emily Are there a few books that you can't live without? (I suppose "live without" in this question means "live without the physical copies").

Robin Sloan No, not really. I do have a few specific physical books that I'd be loathe to lose—the tattered copies of Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain that I read in my youth, for instance. But if I did lose them, and had to get new copies, I wouldn't be heartbroken.

Jonathan Noe I love that you used to word "purge". That is the word I use and I have a similar system.

Joan Gelfand we have a walkway stuffed with 7 3 food long bookcases 3 shelves high. We LOVE our books. we are out of room. we cherish them, give them away, read on kindle. We're a reading family. And, We don't hold on - we let go : )
