Brian Christopher I write all my work in longhand, then transfer it to the computer. Although I can blind type with all digits, it still took me a long time to dream up and finish the novel(s).
I then found software, Nuance NaturallySpeaking, whereby I can dictate what I wrote into the computer, and this saves a lot of time.
Now I'm training myself to just take notes on each chapter – working out the layout/synopsis and dictating it directly instead of writing it in longhand in the first place. What used to take a year, I think will take at least three months, and in total five months including editing.

Marlene Cheng I know of what you speak - my computer loves to speed away, automatically.

Lissa Oliver Such an interesting question and variety of answers! I think my novels are 80% thought, 15% typing and 5% deleting! I write, from brain to page, slowly, but that draft is the only draft, I edit as I go. So taking away 2nd & 3rd drafts, I'm probably pretty quick! Not as good as Rita, though!
