I read both versions and found the FF much, much better. A lot of important details were taken away, and the changes made, to my mind, are not an improvement and definately not necessary. Dusty is one of my favorite books, and I read it many times. I even did a chapter by chapter comparison, and there were many times when I asked myself why and who sugested changes when the original scene was perfect. The published version makes sense to somebody that knows the story. I found it confusing and a lot of things didn't make sense the first time I read it. I am very thankful to my friend that suggested to read the FF.
