Hi, Jenna! I started to read him as a senior in high school. I continued over the years. What strikes me is his ability to rhyme effortlessly and subtly, as well as using everyday words. The "Beaux Arts" poem is amazing. I jhave seen the actual painting, and use the poem in my Mytholgoy class, alogn with "The Shield of Achilles", which I find riveting., cHe certainly has been an remains an inspiration for me. In the latter poem, I am drawn to the differences in meter and rhyme scheme to make a point, and have tried to do that myself. Thanks for the great comment! Feel free to ask me something if you wish!
