I’d choose to journey into the world of "The Broken Earth" trilogy by N.K. Jemisin. The universe Jemisin creates is deeply rooted in survival, justice, and the resilience of human beings against oppressive systems — themes that align with the core values of my work in The New Equation.
In that world, where orogeny (the ability to control seismic forces) is both a power and a curse, I’d focus on understanding the complex relationship between technology and morality. As a custodian, I’d seek to bridge the gap between the orogeny-powered communities and the global South alliances Jemisin’s characters fight for — a parallel to building the New Global South Movement I write about. There’s so much to learn from how the people of that world navigate climate justice, governance, and ethics.
I would also want to explore the Obelisk Gate, as it represents a path to understanding how destructive and creative forces coexist. Just as in the Custodianship Republic, I’d be trying to create a future where destruction (like the environmental breakdowns) doesn’t lead to despair, but to regenerative healing.
I’d probably spend my time collaborating with the orogeny experts and philosophers to remap the future of both technology and humanity in a way that respects indigenous knowledge, Ubuntu, and collective healing. Much like my work, I'd aim to disrupt existing power structures by taking lessons from the past to create new systems of governance, education, and social transformation.
