Agnes Thank you so much, Janet, I really appreciate how thoughtfully you answered. It’s amazing to hear how the beguines and mystics kept surprising you and pushing you deeper into questions of courage and quiet resistance. That sense of “unexpected revelation” is something I felt so strongly while reading Canticle, and it makes the story resonate even more, knowing it was doing the same to you while you wrote it.

I’d love to read what you wrote in the Lit Hub piece, thank you for sharing it.
And now I’m curious… what are you up to this December when it comes to Canticle? Any events, writing plans, or book-related moments on the horizon?
