I've wondered the same thing! KCLS (your home turf) only has 5 titles in audiobook format.
My public library readily accepts suggested books for purchase and circulation. I've probably suggested 10-12 over the last few years, all of which they have added to the shelves.
KCLS (county) only accepts suggestions for books within 2 years of their publication dates... I too have suggested dozens. The City of Seattle is worse; it only has one audiobook title for him (and 6 ebook). :-(
